About Our Club

Monroe

Service to the Community

"Service to the community has been the driving force for the club for more than 80 years and the core reason for its durability. Much of what the club did during eight decades is long forgotten, but it played a leading role in the community from the start, and still does." (Monroe Kiwanis Club History)

Leadership

Perhaps our Kiwanis leadership is best shown in four activities:

We sponsored the formation of several other Kiwanis clubs within Division 22.

We sponsored formation of the Sky Valley Composite Squadron, the Monroe area's Civil Air Patrol.

We played a lead role in creating a local fair--The Cavalcade of the Valleys--that lead to the development of the Evergreen State Fair in Monroe, one of the largest and best.

We helped launch and continue to support the Sky Valley Food Bank, located in Monroe.

We work very hard to live up to the Kiwanis International motto of "Serving the Children of the World"
